Coach Burt

Coaching Since:    2018 Arizona Spring Training

Coach Landon Burt will be joining our Arizona Spring Training staff in 2018.  Burt played four seasons of baseball at San Diego State where he was the regular starter in left field his final two years. He finished with a career batting average of .333 as an Aztec including a season-high .386 mark as a sophomore when he was named SDSU's Most Improved Player.

He was named to the all-Mountain West Conference team in 2004 and was a two-time all-tournament selection at the annual Mountain West Conference Tournament. He was also chosen the team's Top Defensive Player during his senior campaign. During his final year at SDSU he led the Aztecs in triples, runs scored and stolen bases while hitting .377 in league play.

Burt was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 27th round of the Major League draft in 2004. He played for that organization for two seasons as he competed with Elizabethtown in the Appalachian League and Beloit in the Midwest League.

Coach Burt started his collegiate coaching career at Point Loma Nazarene University where he assisted with recruiting, outfield instruction and served as the first base coach. He was then recruited to San Diego State University by hall-of-famer Tony Gwynn to join his coaching staff. Following San Diego State, Burt accepted a position as head coach at San Diego Christian University.

We are blessed to have Coach Burt invest in our FCA players during our Arizona Spring Training camp.  He is an outstanding teacher, has a love for Christ and will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on our players.
